So we are on Hawaii time here and that means a slower pace. That doesn't mean nothing happens, just that it takes time for plans to jell. So here are the things that happened since we did the beach.
MONDAY we took the tour of Justin's sub The City of Corpus Christi
TUESDAY we drove the North Shore for a second time with Betsy, Lloyd, Ryan, Amanda and Gina. We had pineapple whip at the Dole Plantation, stopped for lunch in Haleiwa at the Breakers, did some window shopping and beach combing and site seeing until Gina left us on our own to head back to get JJ and Jade from school. We had dinner on the waterfront at Sam Choy's to celebrate Lloyd and Martin's birthday.
WEDNESDAY was MOVIE DAY. It started by going to breakfast at the local diner featured in 50 First Dates.
Gina showed us the hidden best spots to view the ocean before we stopped at the Kualoa Ranch where we took a bus tour of the Ka a awa Valley where tons of Hollywood movies and TV shows were filmed including Jurasic World and Lost! It's beautiful!!
Finished the day with Star Wars movie with Justin, JJ and Betsey and Lloyd
THURSDAY - A Trip to the West Side.Ryan found this large piece of coral while beach combing on the west side of the island where the wind and waves are much calmer.
Lunch was in Wikiki at the waters edge before heading to the airport to meet Ron And Betsey. We got their security passes, checked them into the Navy Lodge, and then introduced them to the Kluesner family. As always the dinner at Gina's Kitchen was as good as a home cooked meal gets!
FRIDAY
So today was our last day with Betsy and Lloyd. The plan was to do all of Pearl Harbor but due to a helicopter accident near the Arizona Memorial on Thursday the Arizona was closed down "until further notice ". However we were able to do the Battleship Missouri and the Pacific Aviation Museum.
